Finance Assistant
Part-time Finance Assistant (20-25 hours per week)
Cambridge (hybrid)
£28,000-£31,000 per annum, pro-rata
We are currently working with a leading not for profit organisation seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to manage day-to-day financial transactions, including supplier payments and staff expense claims. This role is crucial for ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and processed in a timely manner, with compliance and due diligence at the forefront of responsibilities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Process supplier invoices, set up payments in the bank, request approvals, investigate issues, and handle queries.
- Manage staff expense claims and company credit cards.
- Follow up on missing information and communicate effectively with all staff.
- Process travel purchase orders and invoices, liaising with the travel desk and programme staff.
- Ensure transactional processes are accurate and financial practices comply with all statutory and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with the finance team on month-end tasks such as prepayments, accruals, journals, and analysis.
- Produce accurate and timely reporting as required.
- Set up new clients and suppliers on the ERP system.
- Monitor the team inbox, dealing with emails promptly.
- Work alongside the Admin Hub to ensure processes are up-to-date and relevant.
- Communicate any process changes to wider centre staff.
- Play a proactive role in the testing and implementation of the new ERP system, Netsuite.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- GCSEs or equivalent, including English & Maths.
- AAT qualification or equivalent.
- High standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, preferably Netsuite.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
