About the RoleHSDC are seeking to recruit a highly organised, motivated and approachable individual with outstanding administrative skills to join our dynamic Management Information Systems (MIS) Team. This pivotal role plays a key part in supporting the college’s curriculum planning process. The successful candidate will need a sharp eye for detail and a strong understanding of data processes, as they will be responsible for recording, maintaining, and administering accurate, audit-compliant data.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves advising Assistant Principals, Heads of Faculty and other staff about Further Education Funding, data quality and course information, whilst ensuring full compliance with the Department for Education (DfE) guidelines. This fast-paced position requires the ability to react effectively to operational changes throughout the academic year. Acting as a vital link between MIS and Curriculum teams, the role involves coordinating key elements such as student numbers, funding data, timetabling, and audit monitoring.
This role is predominantly based at the Alton campus, with occasional working days at the Havant Campus.
Responsibilities You will be responsible for:
- Creating a robust Curriculum Plan using the MIS systems, ensuring compliance with college budgets and utilisation
- Fully understanding Department for Education (DfE) guidance around funding and audit compliance
- Planning and maintaining course timetables in conjunction with the appropriate HSDC staff
- Regularly running data quality reports and correct information as necessary and working closely with the Data Returns Coordinator to ensure the ILR is accurate and up to date by key deadlines
- Liaising with Exams, Admissions, Business Development and other business support functions as appropriate in support of work
- Regularly attend curriculum-team meetings to represent the department and respond to local data quality issues
- Attending other campuses where necessary for training or to assist other colleagues
Requirements You will need:
- English and Mathematics to at least level 2
- Experience using student records systems and MIS systems, preferably ProSuite
- Experience of using Microsoft Office Applications
- A good understanding of the current and proposed FE Funding methodologies or demonstrate a willingness to learn.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills with a strong ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail
- To work independently as well as part of a team
- A willingness to undertake training needed to fulfil the changing requirements of the post
- To be Resilient, positive and of professional appearance
- To travel between the campuses as and when required
