Job Title: Senior Accounts Assistant

Location: Norfolk, rural, north of Great Yarmouth.

Type: Part-time.

About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to oversee the ledgers in the accounting department; sales ledger, purchase ledger and VAT. You'll play a key role in guiding strategic decisions and ensuring the financial health. You will be part of a very small team, reporting to the director. Turnover is approximately £3m per annum.

This is a position in a Norfolk office, not suitable for remote working, and therefore your own car is essential due to the office location.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Receive, verify, and log supplier invoices and credit notes
  • Maintain and reconcile supplier accounts
  • Perform data entry and respond to calls/emails as required

Accounts Receivable

  • Raise client invoices and credit notes
  • Reporting for payment issues and resolve queries
  • Monitor, report, and track overdue payments

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant qualification but more importantly proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Flexible and adaptable approach
  • Experience using multiple accounting systems (desirable)
  • Professional and discreet approach to handling confidential information
