Your impact as Cashbook Clerk In this key finance and accounting role, you will be responsible for the daily processing and reconciliation of cashbook transactions across the business. By accurately recording financial data, you’ll ensure our accounts always reflect the true state of play and support decision-making right across the company.

Key Cashbook Clerk responsibilities - Daily recording of cash receipts and payments in the company cashbooks.
- Accurate reconciliation of all bank accounts, flagging and investigating variances swiftly.
- Liaising with stores and internal teams to resolve queries related to cash movements and discrepancies.
- Preparing and maintaining supporting documentation for all transactions, ensuring audit trails are robust and up to date.
- Posting journals and maintaining spreadsheets to support month-end accounting processes.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close, ensuring all records are accurately reflected within deadlines.
- Supporting the wider finance team on ad hoc projects or reporting as required.
What we’re looking for - Previous experience in a similar cashbook, finance, or accounts clerk position is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliations.
- Comfortable working with numbers and using accounting software or spreadsheets (such as Excel).
- Excellent communication skills, enabling you to liaise effectively and build positive relationships across the business.
- A ‘can do’ approach, with the drive to own your responsibilities and resolve queries efficiently.
- Adaptable and ready to learn new processes as systems evolve.
