We’re looking for caring, motivated Childrens Residential Support Workers to join our Leicestershire Residential Services on an as and when basis. This flexible opportunity is perfect if you want to fit meaningful, hands-on work around other commitments while supporting children to feel safe, valued, and inspired.

About the organisation...

You’ll be joining a well-established national children’s organisation that’s been supporting young people for over 150 years. Working in partnership with County Councils, we provide safe, nurturing homes for some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the county.

Our homes offer short-term placements for children aged 8-18, supporting up to three young people at a time who may display a range of emotional or behavioural challenges. Each home provides stability, encouragement and opportunities for growth - helping children to build confidence, independence, and social and emotional skills.

Your Role...

As a Childrens Residential Support Worker, you’ll:

- Build trusting, positive relationships that help young people thrive.

- Support emotional wellbeing, independence, and resilience.

- Work closely with families, carers, and professionals to ensure consistent support.

- Help create a warm, safe, and homely environment including cooking and household tasks.

- Keep accurate records and contribute to care and support plans.

- Always uphold safeguarding standards and promote a safe, positive atmosphere.

Every shift you work will help shape a young person’s future.

What We’re Looking For...

- A driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle (travel across Leicestershire required).

- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).

- Experience working with children or young people in any capacity.

- A genuine passion for making a difference.

- Emotional resilience, empathy, and a calm approach.

- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

What You’ll Get...

- £13.59 per hour, plus holiday pay and benefit of an extra 33% per hour for night shift hours

- Flexible hours to fit around your lifestyle.

- 26 days annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays, increasing with service.

- Matched pension contributions.

- Health cash plan and employee wellbeing support.

- Discounts at major retailers, gyms, and leisure venues.

- Cycle to Work and travel loan schemes.

- Excellent training, induction, and progression opportunities.
