About the role:
As a Support Worker, you will help deliver services for adults with profound and multiple disabilities, supporting their independence, choices, and engagement in activities. You will provide personal care, assist with moving & handling, and use communication skills to enhance inclusion and participation, both in group and 1:1 sessions. Working hours for this role are 19.5 hours per week, working 9:00am to 4:00pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
About you:
As a Support Worker, we welcome applicants with relevant experience or transferable skills from roles such as teaching, teaching assistant, or supporting older adults. You will support adults with profound learning disabilities and complex needs, adapting activities and communicating using picture exchange, objects of reference, social stories, schedules, and Makaton (experience with Makaton is a plus). You should be a strong communicator, able to plan 1:1 support, and willing to complete the Care Certificate and necessary training. You embrace the organisation's values, helping customers achieve independence, inclusion, and meaningful relationships.
