Childrens Residential Support Worker

About Spire Assist: Our Commitment to Young People

At Spire Assist Limited we believe that stable, secure, and compassionate care is the foundation for a young person's future. We are a staffing solutions provider with a difference: our priority is the wellbeing of the young people we serve. We achieve this by providing residential services with highly-trained staff who are vetted rigorously and equipped with trauma-informed and SEND-aware expertise. Our partnership approach with each home focuses on reducing disruption and fostering positive, lasting outcomes.

The Role: A Chance to Make a Difference

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be on the front line of our mission, providing crucial day-to-day care and positive guidance. Working collaboratively, you will implement bespoke care plans, support educational and life skills development, and help maintain a consistent, stable home environment. This role requires immense empathy and dedication, as you will be working directly with young people who have often faced significant trauma.

Make an Impact: Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on personalised care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and health plans.
  • Provide 24/7 person-centred support, including emotional support and personal care.
  • Administer medication and accurately record all actions.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, serving as a key worker where needed.
  • Maintain detailed records and participate in reviews and meetings.
  • Support young people in accessing education, appointments, and community activities.
  • Participate in continuous training to ensure best practice in safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to stability and safeguarding. The right person will have clear, patient communication skills, a high level of empathy, and an understanding of professional boundaries. You will be resilient and calm under pressure, able to follow behaviour management plans effectively.

Candidate Profile: Essential & Desirable

  • Essential: At least 1 year of experience working in a similar role with children and young people. An Enhanced DBS (or a willingness to complete one) and proof of right to work in the UK are required.
  • Desirable: A Level 3 Diploma in a relevant field (or working towards it). Specialised training in areas like trauma-informed practice, autism/ADHD awareness, or first aid is a strong advantage.

Your Development: What We Offer

  • A company culture that prioritises compliance and ethical practice.
  • High-quality, specialist training and supervision.
  • Opportunities for career progression, including a temp-to-permanent path.
  • Flexible shift patterns and competitive pay, with paid sleep-ins where applicable.
