Our client is a specialist provider of bespoke ductwork systems and air-handling solutions, delivering high-quality installations for construction projects across the UK.

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Company Accountant / Accounts Manager to take ownership of their financial operations and play a key role in supporting continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly and yearly management reports
  • Create and manage P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow budgets
  • Manage CIS (Subcontractors)
  • Process PAYE with RTI completion and submission (Sage Payroll)
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Prepare year-end accounts (TB, P&L, Balance Sheet)
  • Produce final statutory accounts to Companies House requirements
  • Handle Purchase Ledger functions and supplier payments
  • Conduct Credit Control activities and chase overdue accounts
  • Process sales invoices and manage petty cash, credit card, and bank reconciliations
  • Perform data entry and filing duties
  • Review statutory accounts and taxation (prepared externally)
  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be a highly organised professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the confidence to work independently. You’ll have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work closely with colleagues across all levels of the business. About you:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Sage 50 Cloud
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Minimum 5 years’ Management Accounting experience (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ Bookkeeping experience (required)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Detailed understanding of current accounting standards
  • Experience within the construction industry
  • Recognised accounting qualifications
