About the Role

The primary function of this role is to coordinate the processes and procedures in line with RNN Group's duty for learners with Education Health and Care Plans studying within Group.

Key duties of the role include;

  • Coordinate the processes and procedures to ensure that RNN meets its duty outlined in the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Prepare EHCP reports and reviews as appropriate.
  • Monitor performance and progression of the learners with EHCP.
  • Support with communication between departments.
  • Attend staff, team and department meetings.

The role is an EHCP Coordinator is critical to contribute and support curriculum to ensure learners are provided with the knowledge, skills and cultural capital they need to overcome social injustice ensuring rich opportunities to develop learners' broader life skills and citizenship and as outlined in the EHCP outcomes.

You will…

You will need a high level of professionalism, communication and personal skills.  A background in SEND support and extensive knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice is essential. You will also have a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy and hold a specialist qualification in a relevant subject area, or be willing to work towards.

In addition to a sound knowledge of SEND, High Needs and a broad range of health & medical related issues this role requires the postholder to possess a high level of professionalism, good verbal and written communication skills, an ability to accurately record information in a timely manner, empathy and flexibility to meet the needs of a variety of learners. You will also, in some cases, be the primary point of contact for learners and be required to work collaboratively with the wider college community to ensure that the Group meets its duty in terms of the SEND Code of Practice and Local Authority Graduated Response.

The role of EHCP Coordinator sits within the Student Support and Safeguarding department structure under the overall management of the Head of Additional Learning and High Needs Support.
