Part-Time Financial Officer

Location: Remote (with quarterly meetings in Andover and occasional travel to Somerset and Dorset)

Salary: £18,972 per annum (£31,198 FTE)

Hours: 22.5 per week (Monday to Wednesday preferred, but negotiable)

About the Role Finance Officer

We are working with our client to recruit a part-time Financial Officer to join their Financial Operations Team. This role plays an important part in supporting the smooth running of their finance function, ensuring all income is accurately processed and recorded.

You will be responsible for posting and reconciling income, raising and despatching invoices, handling billing queries, and supporting credit control processes. The role involves close liaison with families, councils, and the NHS, so excellent communication and attention to detail are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage admissions, terminations, billing, and reconciliations across several systems.
  • Process payments and allocate them accurately to customer accounts.
  • Raise invoices and assist with credit control and debt recovery.
  • Support resident families with billing queries.
  • Liaise with external partners including councils and the NHS to ensure timely billing and payments.
  • Administer Direct Debits and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the finance service.

About You

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Experience using computerised accounts systems.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage a busy workload.
  • AAT qualification or relevant degree is desirable but not essential.
