Based in our Hungerford office, you will be part of a small friendly team. Duties as senior accountant include to support and mentor our junior team members as well as working closely with the senior partners. You must demonstrate a proactive approach to business development and identifying client opportunities. This role has scope to expand for an all-round senior position in a small practice.

Your duties will include:

• Preparing a variety of client’s management and year end accounts for sole trade, partnership and Limited companies.
• Reviewing VAT Returns, Management accounts and Year end accounts prepared by junior team members.
• Preparing Corporation tax returns.
• Preparing Personal tax returns.
• Preparing correspondence to accompany Accounts and Tax returns for client approval.
• Assisting junior members of the team with queries and in house training.
• Develop strong client relationships to ensure good levels of client care and managing deadlines.

Candidate requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ accountancy practice experience in a similar role.
• Pro-active, client centric professional.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work flow.
• Highly organised, strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Iris and Xero software advantageous but not essential.
• Qualified/QBE applicants welcome but must be from a practice background.

The Role:

• Permanent, Full time and Part time applicants welcome.

• Standard working pattern of Monday to Friday 9-5 with 1-hour lunch (35-hour week).
• Salary range £40,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience.
