As a Collections Supervisor , you will be responsible for supervising and co-ordinating waste collection operations across the borough, ensuring the health and safety of staff, contractors, and visitors, and delivering excellent customer service and product quality. You will operate the site efficiently and effectively in line with the annual budget and support a team of operatives to deliver an efficient and professional service.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
- Supervising and co-ordinating waste operations across the borough
- Monitoring health, safety, quality, and performance standards across sites
- Ensuring compliance with all environmental and health & safety legislation
- Leading investigations and disciplinary procedures as required
- Conducting staff training, licence checks, safety briefings, and equipment inductions
- Liaising with local councils, stakeholders, and contractors
- Promoting resource efficiency, recycling, and continuous improvement
- Using systems such as Asset Go, CMS, and Microsoft Office for operational reporting and audits
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, ideally in waste, logistics, or environmental services
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- A proactive, safety-conscious, and customer-focused approach
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between sites
- Supervisory core skills
- Use of IT (Microsoft Office/CMS/Safeguard)
- Clean driving licence (LGV licence and CPC Driver Training would be an advantage)
- Good local knowledge
- Safety conscious at all times, diligent with a keen eye for detail
- Keen to learn and take on a challenge
- Self-motivated with the attitude to succeed
- Ability to work within defined timescales and as part of a team
- Professional approach and excellent timekeeping
- Flexibility with working hours; some weeks of being on-call will be expected
