Accounts Payable Assistant

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable (AP) Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. About the Role

As an AP Assistant, you’ll be responsible for processing a high volume of invoices and ensuring timely and accurate payments in line with company policies and regulatory standards. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting internal teams to uphold financial accuracy and efficiency.

This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance at our Harrogate office two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

While not exhaustive, your core duties will include:

  • Processing large volumes of invoices in accordance with internal controls and procedures
  • Reconciling vendor and nominal ledger accounts as part of month-end close
  • Managing both scheduled and ad hoc payment runs, submitting for managerial review
  • Monitoring and maintaining the central AP mailbox, ensuring timely invoice processing in line with SLAs
  • Collaborating with teams across Procurement, Facilities, and IT to enhance AP performance and vendor engagement
  • Supporting the AP Manager with ad hoc tasks and contributing to process improvements

About You

We’re seeking someone with prior experience in Accounts Payable, ideally within a systems-based Purchase Order environment. You’ll be confident using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365, and possess solid Excel skills (intermediate level or above).
