Finance Manager / Bookkeeper / Accounts

About the Role

We’re a growing small automotive ecommerce business looking for a reliable and experienced Finance Manager / Bookkeeper to manage all day-to-day finance operations in-house. This is a hands-on role where you’ll oversee bookkeeping, accounts (AP & AR), and financial reporting, ensuring everything runs smoothly and accurately. You’ll work closely with the owner/director and play a key part in keeping the business financially organised and efficient.


Main Responsibilities
  • Manage all bookkeeping and accounting entries in Xero or QuickBooks.
  • Handle invoices, payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare VAT returns and work with external accountants to submit to HMRC
  • Track cash flow, budgets, and expenses to support decision-making
  • Produce monthly financial summaries for management review
  • Liaise with external accountants
  • Maintain organised financial records and improve systems where needed
  • Handle ad-hoc financial admin tasks typical of a small business


Requirements
  • Solid experience in bookkeeping, accounts, or small business finance
  • Understanding of cross border sales
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • Good understanding of UK VAT, and HMRC compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and taking full ownership of finance tasks
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
