International Bank based in London, are looking to recruit a Head of Internal Audit and Company Secretary to join their London office on a part time basis (4 days per week)

You’ll report directly to the CEO and play a key role in providing independent assurance across all business functions, ensuring robust governance and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will lead the Internal Audit function and act as Secretary to the Board, Audit & Risk Committee, and Management Committee.

Main responsibilities will include;

• • Lead the internal audit function, developing and delivering the annual risk-based audit plan.
  • Oversee audits across business areas including Treasury, Structured Real Estate, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Risk Management, IT and HR.
  • Evaluate internal controls, identify risk exposures, and recommend improvements.
  • Report audit findings to senior management, the CEO, and the Audit & Risk Committee.
  • Ensure best practice and compliance with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards.
  • Act as Company Secretary, managing Board and Committee documentation and filings.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators (PRA/FCA) and legal advisors.
  • Promote a strong governance culture and effective three-lines-of-defence model.

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;

• • Substantial internal audit experience within banking or financial services.
  • Is currently an SMF5 or has held the SMF5 function in a similar type of bank
  • Deep understanding of risk management, regulatory frameworks, and internal control processes.
  • Proven record of communicating with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience acting as Company Secretary or supporting Board-level committees.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
