About the Role

Reed Education Southampton is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Winchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified HLTA—or an ECT looking to build experience—to make a real impact in a nurturing setting.

The school is a faith-led, inclusive community with a caring Christian ethos and strong local ties. It has a strong academic record, particularly in reading and maths, and provides excellent support for SEND pupils. Recently praised by Ofsted for its solid foundations and early years improvements, the school celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025 and remains a highly regarded choice for families.

What we’re looking for:

  • HLTA status (or working towards) or equivalent experience
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills (minimum GCSE grade C/4 in English and Maths)
  • Experience leading whole-class learning under teacher direction
  • Organised, flexible, and resilient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Confidence in covering teacher absence when required
  • Skills to support pupils with specific learning and emotional needs
  • Commitment to the school’s Christian values and vision

What you’ll receive in return:

  • A welcoming, inclusive school community
  • Motivated, well-behaved pupils who love learning
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression
  • Supportive leadership and dedicated staff team
  • Free employee assistance through Health Assured (including family support)
  • Complimentary refreshments and snacks
  • Regular staff wellbeing initiatives and termly raffle
  • Free Breakfast Club places for staff children attending the school

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, motivated individual passionate about helping children thrive. Working closely with teachers and leaders, you’ll play a key role in delivering planned lessons, interventions, and targeted support across the school.
