Toolmaker

Location: Witton, Birmingham (This is an onsite role)

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Mon – Thurs 7.30-4.30, Fri 7.30-12.30

Our client is a small company who has been manufacturing Press Tools for various industries since 1995. They pride themselves on the quality of their tools and the good service they provide to their customers. The company also undertake tool repairs and modifications to existing tooling and also carry out CNC machining and wire erosion on individual items to suit their customer’s needs.

The Role

They are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join their team. 

The Toolmaker will be responsible for:

• the manufacture of new tools
• maintaining and repairing existing tools using various toolroom machines and hand tools
• collaborating with team members to ensure tools meet required specifications
• setting up and operating machines to produce tools and parts
• ensuring that the equipment is well-maintained and functioning properly

Skills and Qualifications

• Must have toolmaking experience, machining or similar field required
• Knowledge of manual Toolroom machines, Technical Drawings and measuring instruments is required.
• Experience of CNC machines preferable not essential
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and equipment issues
• Experience of CAD/CAM Software (not essential)
• An understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures applicable to the Tool making industry
