About the Early Years Practitioner Role

We are supporting a chain of Nurseries who are expanding. They need dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to work in their Nursery and after school club in Killingworth. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality care and education, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that supports their development and learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The role also involves working with older children up to the age of 11 in their After School Club and Holiday Club,

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities that promote children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities for children attending After School Club and Holiday Club.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment, adhering to safeguarding and health & safety policies.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, sharing information with parents and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support individual learning needs.
  • Ensure compliance with EYFS standards and nursery policies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through effective strategies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the setting through reflective practice and professional development.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (e.g., NVQ Level 3, CACHE Diploma).
  • Proven experience working in an Early Years setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

  • Paediatric First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of additional needs and inclusive practices.

Reed £12.00 - £13.00 per hour Killingworth
