Interim Financial Controller – 2–5 Month Contract

Talent Finance are working exclusively with a growing, multi-entity group business in Poole that is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to support the organisation through a period of change and transformation. This is a hands-on yet strategically focused role, offering the chance to step into a fast-paced environment and make a real impact on the future shape of the finance function.

This multi-entity group is continuing to scale, and due to increased complexity the business is undertaking a full review of its financial systems, processes, and team structure. They are now looking for an experienced finance leader who can maintain stability day-to-day while guiding the organisation through this transition.

The Role

You will lead the day-to-day finance function while contributing to the development of the longer-term operating model. Key responsibilities include:

• Ownership of cashflow management, month-end, reporting, and forecasting
• Strengthening controls, processes, and financial governance
• Supporting the implementation of new systems and operational improvements
• Managing multi-entity accounts and ensuring accurate financial data
• Providing structure and support to the finance team, including part-time Finance Administrators
• Acting as a senior point of escalation and leadership during a period of significant change

This role suits a technically strong, qualified accountant who thrives in a fast-moving SME setting and is confident balancing hands-on work with strategic oversight.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Ideally practice-trained, or with strong technical grounding and multi-entity exposure
• Experience within SMEs or similar dynamic, service-led environments
• Confident, proactive, and comfortable working onsite
• Strong leadership style with the ability to bring clarity, structure, and direction through change

Key Details

• Onsite in Poole
• 4 or 5 days per week
• 2–5 month assignment, with potential to extend or convert to permanent
• Day rate aligned to £70–80k salary equivalent (DOE)
• Core hours approx. 8:30am–5:30pm, with some flexibility
