We are currently working with a well-established and highly profitable SME based in St Albans who are seeking an experienced Part-Time Management Accountant to support their finance function. This is a great opportunity for a capable, hands-on Management Accountant who’s comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day finance activity as well as routine reporting.

This role provides a varied workload within a supportive SME environment and suits someone who thrives in a hands-on setting. The position is part-time, with reduced hours worked onsite across five days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Assistance with annual budgeting and routine forecasting
• Preparing information for year-end, audit and statutory requirements
• Reviewing and overseeing financial operations
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory obligations
• Liaising across departments to monitor budgets and support cost control

Requirements:

• Proven experience preparing management accounts in an SME setting.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
• Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
• Previous experience with line management or mentoring is beneficial
