Job Title: Family Assessment Worker (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Location: Coventry

Salary: £24,608 – £29,422 (Scale 8–20) Pro-rata for part-time hours

Hours:

  • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
  • Part-time: 22.5 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern: 4-week rolling rota, including weekends. Shifts alternate between:
  • 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM
About the Role

Aatom Recruitment is seeking compassionate and dedicated Family Assessment Worker. You will play a vital role in supporting families, ensuring the safety and welfare of children, and helping parents develop essential skills in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and record parents’ ability to meet the immediate safety and care needs of their children.
  • Ensure parents/carers prioritise the welfare of their children.
  • Create a positive learning environment for families.
  • Provide childcare while parents attend group and individual sessions.
  • Deliver tailored group and individual sessions based on family needs.
  • Facilitate playroom activities such as Baby Massage, Baby Sensory, Messy Play, and Musical Babies (training provided).


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Keep the safety and welfare of children at the heart of all assessments and interventions.
  • Actively contribute to the assessment process by observing, supervising, recording, and evaluating family interactions, child behavior, parental motivation, and ability to meet children’s needs.
  • Deliver a service that respects and values the strengths, experiences, and cultural backgrounds of families.
  • Participate in team meetings to review and improve practices, resources, and service provision within the Centre.
  • Use sensitivity and sound judgment when challenging and guiding parenting practices.
  • Provide structured feedback to parents during and at the end of each shift.
  • Organize and prioritize workload effectively, ensuring all written records are accurate and completed within deadlines.
  • Assist with childcare duties as required.
  • Liaise with managers and engage external agencies/resources where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver a culturally sensitive service for children and families.

Additional:

  • Should you work a night shift you will be paid an additional £11.03 allowance for each night worked.
