Warehouse First Line Manager

We’re looking for a Warehouse First Line Manager to join us at our Halfords contract, at our site in Crick, Northampton. You’ll support the Shift Manager in the efficient running of the warehouse shift, ensuring optimum use of resources to deliver 1st class customer service, whilst taking a proactive approach to enhancing employee engagement and their development whilst driving forward a culture of continuous improvement.


This is a full time, permanent position, working on an any 5 from 7 shift pattern, the hours of work will rotate between 05:30 to 14:00 and 13:30 to 22:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Utilise available resources to allocate and distribute tasks within the operation to maximise efficiency in order to achieve and exceed customer KPI's/productivity targets
  • Create and maintain a positive team culture, by actively encouraging involvement from all, to improve employee engagement
  • Identify cost saving initiatives and implement corrective actions where appropriate to maximise the efficiency of the warehouse operation
  • With good understanding of Health & Safety you’ll strive to make sure all operational processes are fully compliant with our policies, while accurately identifying risks and escalating your findings


What you need to succeed at GXO:


  • A proven track record at a similar level, within a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Experience managing conflicting priorities, with the ability to plan and organise a warehouse operation
  • Excellent people skills - the ability to effectively lead, develop and manage a team, whilst identifying areas for development and recognising success
