HR Advisor (Part-time)

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a proactive and confident HR Advisor to join our dynamic HR team in Maidstone, supporting our NHS contract. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll be the go-to expert for all things Employee Relations (ER), helping managers navigate complex cases and drive positive outcomes.


This role is being offered on a part-time, permanent basis. You will be working 20 hours per week, across 5 days, with flexibility around hours that suit you. However, flexibility will be required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £17,066.66 per annum, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pro rata based on hours. What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Lead and manage ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and flexible working requests
  • Coach and train line manager to build confidence and capability in ER case handling
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations Partner to identify trends and implement proactive solutions
  • Support absence management through data analysis, Occupational Health liaison, and strategic initiatives
  • Administer recruitment processes, contract changes, and onboarding activities
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and contribute to improving survey scores and workplace culture


What you need to succeed at GXO:


  • CIPD Level 3 qualified
  • Strong experience in managing high-volume ER cases
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with Trade Unions
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF, SUMIF, COUNT)
  • A flexible, organised, and customer-focused approach
