Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for Exam Writers to join Central Academic team, Cambridge Education Group.
The role will be on a per exam / assessment basis. The role is homebased.
Do you have previous experience as an exam writer, experience with writing assessment material, normally in the form of individual questions which form an exam paper or assessment with attention to detail and the ability to manage time and multiple projects? Are you able to work to strict deadlines and follow stringent protocols to ensure compliance with a variety of internal and external regulations, working closely with others who also share responsibility for quality and assurance within an organisation?

Key Responsibilities - As an exam writer you are required to write assessment material, normally in the form of individual questions which form an exam paper or assessment.
- Prepare the questions or items with answer keys as specified by the relevant Central Programme Coordinator, according to the syllabus specification and exam/assessment writer guidelines, ensuring the level of difficulty is appropriate for the qualification and fits the specification.
- Provide full details of source material used where copyright permission will be required.
- Submit the required material to a high-quality standard within an agreed timescale and in the format required. If the agreed timescales are not met or the material(s) produced is not deemed to be of a satisfactory standard, no fee will be payable.
- Send a revised version of the material, following feedback from the Deputy Chief Academic Officer.
- Evaluate the first draft of the exam/assessment material produced by other Exams/Assessment Writers. This includes:
- ensuring all syllabus requirements are met
- indicating all errors in content
- working through practical assessments and source data, as necessary
- making sure the level of difficulty is consistent with the qualification and with previous years
- ensuring parity of standards across components and across optional questions within a component
- contacting the product manager for advice if the content is felt to be sensitive or inappropriate
- Carry out all these services in line with our instructions and the schedule of services.
- There will be key dates and contact points that you will be required to adhere to which are driven by assessment dates in the course calendar. Full details will be provided prior to starting in relation to any key dates.
Person Specification Education
- Educated to degree or equivalent qualification level, in relevant subject area (Essential)
- Demonstrates competency in English language to IELTS 8.0 or equivalent (Essential)
- Master’s degree or equivalent, in relevant subject area (Desirable)
- Teaching qualification (Desirable)
Experience
- Experience of working in a customer-focussed academic environment
