Job Specification: Accounts Assistant (Part-Time)

Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Hours: Part-time, 20–25 hours per week (ideally across 5 days)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Depending on Experience

Location: Hampton Hill– Hybrid

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to support our clients finance team with day-to-day transactional accounting. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication skills, and enjoys working with accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate will manage supplier invoices, credit card reconciliations, payment runs, and general accounts administration.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Supplier Management

  • Manage the dedicated accounts inbox, distributing and responding to queries as needed.
  • Post all supplier purchase invoices and credit notes, ensuring accurate matching to purchase orders.
  • Query any invoice discrepancies with internal stakeholders (LW & KD) to ensure correct processing.
  • Reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis, identifying and resolving outstanding items.
  • Manage subcontractor invoices, including processing, validation, and payment scheduling.
  • Prepare and process monthly supplier payment runs, as well as ad-hoc payments.
  • Issue remittances to suppliers following payment runs.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency with accounting software - Sage 50
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets.

  • Positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information professionally.
