Fitness Instructor (Sports Centre)
Location: Godalming
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Vacancy Type: Part time – up to 30 hours per week over 7 days. Between the hours 08.00 – 21.30

The Role
To assist the Club Manager in the daily operation of the Club, ensuring a safe, efficient, economic and customer orientated service is provided for members and visitors at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement appropriate systems and procedures to ensure the highest level of service delivery and customer satisfaction in the Fitness Suite at all times.
- Ensure that the Inductions and Programme Reviews are in accordance with Club procedures.
- Promote Personal Training to Members throughout the Club to maximise the uptake by members. Ensure that all Personal Training records are accurate and maintained up to date to ensure that bad debt does not accrue.
- Ensure that customer contact time between Instructor and Member is maximised
- Induct and train staff in Fitness Suite procedures, maintain records and update such training as required.
- Ensure that high standards of hygiene are maintained at all times in the Fitness Suite.
- In conjunction with the Management team, develop and implement a comprehensive programme of Member challenges throughout the year to maintain member motivation and retention.
- Maintain the notice boards in the Fitness Suite ensuring that all information is relevant and up to date and changed not less than monthly providing a cross section of information including diet and nutrition, exercise and other relevant articles.
- Attend regular work reviews in accordance with the Company Work Review Scheme.
- To communicate effectively with the Management team.
- Attend team meetings and staff training sessions as required by the Club Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of Health and Fitness industry
- Proven track record in team supervision
- Good understanding of Health and Safety in the work place
- Fitness L2 and L3, Pool Lifeguard, First Aid would be an advantage, however full training is available for the right candidate
- Outgoing and confident personality
- Pro-active and reliable
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- High standard of personal hygiene and appearance
- Passionate about fitness and wellbeing
- Team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
