Part Time Bookkeeper

Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: Reigate, Surrey

Hours:12 hours per week (Ideally Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10am - 2pm)

Hourly Rate: £16 per hour


Our lovely client in Reigate is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to manage our client’s financial operations. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities as well as supporting the smooth running of the office.


Bookkeeper Job Duties

  • Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system
  • Maintain accurate ledgers, journals, and account files
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts regularly
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
  • Prepare and send customer invoices
  • Track receivables and follow up on overdue accounts
  • Maintain vendor and customer records
  • Process payroll or assist with payroll preparation
  • Maintain employee time and attendance records
  • Calculate benefits, deductions, and reimbursements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Generate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
  • Assist with year-end closing procedures
  • Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking
  • Identify variances and report to management
  • VAT Submissions

General Administrative Tasks

  • Coordinate with external accountants or auditors
  • Support office operations as needed


Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in accounting or finance administration
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with cloud-based tools.

Qualifications

  • AAT Level 3 or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks and ideally BrightPay
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an SME environment is advantageous.
