Part Time Receptionist

I am delighted to be partnering exclusively with a prestigious and long-established educational institution in Cambridge to recruit a part-time Receptionist to join their front-of-house team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, personable, and reliable individual who enjoys working in a welcoming and professional environment.

Working as part of a job-share arrangement, you will provide a warm and efficient reception service, acting as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors. You will work closely with your counterpart receptionist to ensure smooth coverage across the week.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a professional and friendly reception service
  • Handling incoming calls, emails, and visitor enquiries
  • Supporting general administrative tasks as required
  • Maintaining a tidy and organised reception area
  • Liaising with staff and external visitors in a helpful and proactive manner

Term Time plus 2 weeks (first and last week of the summer holidays)

  • Monday & Tuesday: 08:00 - 17:00

  • 36 weeks per year

School closure periods (excluding the first and last week of the summer holidays)

  • Monday & Tuesday: 08:30 - 15:30

  • 16 weeks per year

Term Time only - Saturday rota

  • Approximately one Saturday morning per month, 08:00 - 12:15 (33 weeks per year)

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is confident, welcoming, and able to create a positive first impression
  • Has strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, both in person and over the phone
  • Is comfortable using basic IT systems (email, calendars, MS Office or similar)
  • Can manage multiple tasks calmly and efficiently
  • Is reliable, punctual, and committed to the job-share arrangement
  • Previous reception or customer-facing experience is desirable but not essential
  • Experience in an educational setting is beneficial but not required
