Role – Female Support workers
Location- Wigan
Salary - £14.29 Inclusive of Holiday Entitlement
Shifts – Monday: 16:00- 21:00 Wednesday: 16:00-21:00 Friday: 16:00-21:00 Saturday: 13:00 – 17:00 Sunday: 18:00- 22:00
Key Role essentials and responsibilities –
- Competent verbal and written English
- Must have experience within health and social care settings
Meet the person you’ll be supporting:
- Who am I? I am an 11 Year old boy
- What challenges do I have? I had a brain stem stroke, so I am paralysed from the neck down and have had locked in syndrome in the past. The stroke affected my ability to speak, so I communicate by using eye gaze. I have some clinical support needs, such as a tracheostomy, PEG feeding, stoma, catheter, and movement via a hoist and wheelchair.
- What activities do I like to do? climbing, being outside, loves using symbols (PEC’s)
My team
- How many people support me at one time? I am supported on a 1:1 basis throughout the day
· Who do I need to support me? We are looking for someone to work closely with a mum and her young son, providing tailored support that empowers her in her parenting journey.
The role involves practical hands-on support to help mum build confidence in understanding her sons’ individual needs.
Your role will be to provide a positive empowering experience that strengthens mum’s ability to meet her son’s needs with confidence, understanding and care in order that he thrives
- What types of people do I get along with? I like people to be kind, supportive and empathetic
- What shift patterns do my team do? Are 8 Hour and can vary
- What are my aspirations? Have a smooth transition to high school and to settle in well. Reduce water sensitivity and have a consistent routine to support me.
