Senior Calculations Consultant - Defined Benefit Pensions

I'm looking for a number of experienced Senior Calculations Consultants to join a growing pension risk transfer team. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys detailed DB calculations, feels comfortable with more complex benefit structures, and likes being one of the people others rely on for technical clarity.

The team looks after the calculation and communication of individual DB quotations across a wide range of schemes. You'll play a key role in making sure benefit figures are accurate, customers receive the right information, and onboarding of new schemes runs smoothly. There's a healthy mix of technical work, stakeholder contact, and supporting team capability.

The role is hybrid, based in Glasgow, with flexibility on home and office split.

What you'll be doing

• Leading on DB calculations and creating any non-standard member communications

• Making sure all benefit figures are accurate and checked before release

• Providing a responsive administration and claims service to members, trustees, and advisers

• Acting as a technical expert and keeping up to date with legislation

• Supporting wider activity including valuations, data updates, and bulk transfers

• Managing the end-to-end onboarding of new DB schemes

• Keeping internal teams and third parties updated

• Helping to design or deliver training to support good customer outcomes

Who we're looking for

• A pensions qualification (PMI, CII or similar), or strong experience working with DB schemes

• Solid understanding of DB structures, calculations, and legislation

• Someone with a strong customer mindset and clear communication skills

• Confident managing deadlines and keeping work on track

• Comfortable taking ownership of issues and seeing them through

• A collaborative team member who enjoys a busy, evolving environment

• Strong judgement and analytical skills
