About the Role
As Head of Year, you will:
- Provide leadership and support for a designated year group
- Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic progress, intervening when necessary
- Support students’ social, emotional, and personal development
- Lead assemblies, mentoring sessions, and pastoral initiatives
- Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure consistent behaviour management
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Contribute to school-wide pastoral policies and initiatives
Requirements
- Significant experience in a pastoral or leadership role in education
- Proven track record in supporting student wellbeing, behaviour management, and academic progress
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, resilience, and a student-centered approach
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Understanding of safeguarding, welfare, and inclusion policies
