About the Role

As Head of Year, you will:

  • Provide leadership and support for a designated year group
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic progress, intervening when necessary
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and personal development
  • Lead assemblies, mentoring sessions, and pastoral initiatives
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure consistent behaviour management
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Contribute to school-wide pastoral policies and initiatives

Requirements

  • Significant experience in a pastoral or leadership role in education
  • Proven track record in supporting student wellbeing, behaviour management, and academic progress
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, resilience, and a student-centered approach
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
  • Understanding of safeguarding, welfare, and inclusion policies
