Senior Claims Handler - Motor: Our busy Motor Claims Department are looking for dedicated and passionate Senior Claims Handler to join the team on a Secondment. As a Senior Claims Handler, you will be responsible improving technical capability in your team and the wider department. You will have ownership over various tasks and assist your Team Leader with several duties aligned to this goal.

Main Responsibilities as Senior Claims Handler - Motor: 

  • Quality assurance and quality management within the team.
  • Reviewing high value claims within the team (and department), providing support/coaching where required.
  • Taking referrals from the other team members and using these as an opportunity to coach and develop others.
  • Attending meetings (especially those that are technical in nature) on behalf of their team leader.
  • Producing reports to evidence the work you have been doing and highlighting areas for improvement within the team or wider department.

To ensure you continue to hone your technical skills and stay close to the claims process and strategies, you will also work with a reduced allocation of claims. You will be expected to balance your time between handling your own allocation and the additional responsibilities of a Senior Claims Handler.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their experience within the Motor Claims department, working with a team of experienced Senior Handlers whilst also being supported by the wider department.

Skills and experience you need as Senior Claims Handler - Motor:

  • Excellent technical knowledge within a Motor Claims environment is essential for this role.  
  • Experience of credit hire claims handling and negotiation, both inside the GTA and in a common law world.
  • The ability to influence and persuade others to your way of thinking evidenced through strong negotiation skills and a technical insurance knowledge with particular focus on liability, subrogation and third-party intervention.
  • Eagerness to seek and engage in future learning opportunities, taking ownership of your continuous professional development.
  • Be an excellent communicator with a passion and ability to coach and develop others.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experienced in multitasking and prioritising your own workload with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Positive attitude with a flexible and resilient approach to change and teamwork.
