Complete Classroom Services are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to support the finance operations of a school we are working with. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and financial skills looking to contribute to a thriving school environment.

Job Summary

As the Finance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day financial administration of the school. This will include processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budget monitoring, and assisting with reporting. You will work closely with the Finance Manager, school leaders, and administrative staff to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payments

• Reconciling accounts and supporting month-end financial procedures

• Monitoring budgets and tracking expenditure against allocated funds

• Supporting payroll administration alongside the HR and Finance teams

• Recording and reconciling income across various school systems and platforms

• Assisting with procurement, supplier communications, and contract administration

• Maintaining accurate financial records in line with audit and HMRC requirements

• Supporting financial reporting by preparing data, summaries, and documentation

• Handling petty cash, school fund transactions, and expense claims

• Ensuring financial procedures and controls are consistently followed

• Providing general administrative support to the Finance Manager and wider school office

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience working in a finance or accounts assistant role (school experience essential)

• Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail

• Confident using financial management systems (e.g., PS Financials, SIMS, FMS, Xero, or similar)

• Good understanding of invoicing, reconciliation, and general finance processes

• Strong IT skills, including Excel and financial spreadsheets

• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks independently

• Clear communication skills, including the ability to present financial information accurately
